Calculate amount of colors (in percents) n pictures

hi i need a software that would calculate the amount of colors present in picture. For example, I’ve got an image with a red circle and a green one. The red circle is bigger. I want the software to tell me that there’s more red in the picture than there’s green

PitStop can calculate ink coverage, if I recall correctly, but it's expensive and that's not exactly what you need. Here is a link to a related discussion about finding the area of a shape with a script, but you would still need to identify the color of each shape. This task would probably be easier if all of the colors were individual spot colors (so the ink values would match the color values).
