Can't access email associated with account

Hi! I'm having a very frustrating issue. I set up my account a couple years ago with an email address given to me by my university when I was in grad school. The school has since closed my account, so I no longer have access to that email to sign in or login to cancel my subscription (the real task I'm trying to accomplish). I'm getting a message "couldn't find your google account". I tried to change my email on my account, but I can't do that without logging in first- it keeps trying to send the code to my email address which I can't get to. I've emailed the school's IT department, but because I'm no longer a student and haven't been in a few years, they can't help me. The chat support robot cannot seem to understand my issue either. I just need help so I can cancel my subscription. Thank you!

@kaitlin_6424 coming from an educational institution, your files are gone because your university-provided email and associated cloud storage are a part of a student account that has since been deactivated. This deactivation is standard procedure for many educational institutions once a student is no longer enrolled.

Educational institutions typically offer students access to software and cloud storage through institutional agreements with companies like Adobe and Google. These agreements are tied to the student's active enrollment status. When you are no longer a student, the university revokes your access to these services. Once your university email account was closed, any associated services, including your Adobe and Google accounts, would have been automatically suspended or terminated. To save on costs and manage resources, they typically delete all data associated with the account after a certain period. The fact that it has been a few years since you were a student makes it highly likely that the data has been permanently deleted.

They did offer us Adobe for free while I was a student. However, at some point after I lost access to it for free, I started a free trial again to use one of it's features. I forgot to cancel it, so I got charged. Because of Adobe's contract stipulations, I needed to ride it out for a least a year or pay a lot more to cancel the subscription and, ultimately, I ended up keeping it a little longer because I ended up using it regularly. Now I'm trying to clean up my fiances and want to cancel the subscription, but I'm stuck.

make sure you're aware of the cancellation terms by selecting your plan type (at the top of the page here), https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html

and for info on how to cancel your subscription, this page describes the few steps involved, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

if you're unable to follow the steps described, check your account (https://account.adobe.com) for a payment problem. all payment problems must be resolved before cancellation is enabled, https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/kb/fix-failed-missed-payment.html
