Combining Files

I am having problems combining files. I've done this many times before, but for whatever reason, I'm having issues. When I click on Combile Files, I'll select my option of Add Files or Add Open Files. When I do this, generally 2, or more, documents will be available. However, when I try now, only 1 document is available to select, therefore, I'm unable to combine the 2 documents. Has any seen this before and is there a way to fix this?

Hi There,

 

Thanks for reporting the issue here.

There are several ways to combine, one can try either of them.

Workflow 1 :

Open Folder in Windows > Select File(s)/Folder(s) to be combined > Right Click on them > Select Combine using Acrobat > Click Combine > Observe

Workflow 2 :

Open Acrobat > Tools > Combine > Select from explorer & drag-drop the files to open space in Combine > Click Combine > Observe

Workflow 3 :

Open Acrobat > Tools > Combine > Click on Add File(s) > Select files pressing Ctrl or selecting > Click on Combine > Observe
Workflow 4 :

Open Acrobat > File Menu > Create > Combine files into a Single file > Select File(s)/Folder > Click Combine > Observe

Workflow 5 :

Open Acrobat > Tools > Create > Multiple Files > Select Combine Files > Click Next > Select File(s)/Folder(s) > Click Combine > Observe

 

Please try either of the workflow, working as expected at our end. If still the issue persists; please share your system info. like Acrobat version installed, OS using, System Config, and if the issue is for a specific file set then if possible please share them here as well.

Hi Louiseh

 

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to combine the PDFs as now you are able to add only one file

 

What is the type of the files you are trying to combine? is this a behavior with a particular set of files or with all the files you try to combine? please try with a different set of files and check.

 

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC and make sure you have the latest version 20.009.20074 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

 

Are you on a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version OS? please try to repair the installation (For Windows Only) Go to Help > Repair Installation and see if that makes any difference.

 

If it still doesn't work please try to reset the preferences as described in the help article https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082?page=1

 

You may also try to combine the files online via document cloud  https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/ and see if that is working fine.
