Your link worked on Mac OS Sierra and CC 2017 apps, as admin after restart.

Mine fixed..If you followed the steps and it doesn't work, try to run Acrobat with a administrator access:

Right click on the program icon and click 'properties'

Go to 'compatibility' tab and tick the one says 'run this program as an administrator'.

Then run the program, it should then ask you to sign in your account without showing error.

Got mine fix: I have a MacBook pro running on OS X El Capitan. I didn't uninstall the app, there is no PCD nor SLStore folder so what I did is I simply restarted my mac and after rebooting everything (LR and PS) is back to normal. =)

MY FIX...I was able to fix this by uninstalling including preferences then I restarted my computer.  After the restart I reinstalled.  As with everything I'm sure this will work for some and not others, but I thought I would post my solution.  I tried the solution above but my permissions were already correct so I was getting the error for other reasons.

If none of the above works, I'd suggest updating the Adobe Creative Cloud app! I kept getting that error and none of my adobe apps were working, so I did that and everything is fixed now

Can Adobe finally give steps to resolve this that apply to Windows 10??!!

The steps given here:

Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite

or here:

Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite

...don't apply for Windows 10, because the entire

  • "Click the Owner tab, select Administrators, and click Edit" and
  • "Select Replace Owner on Subcontainers and Objects. Click Apply, and then click OK."

...parts are not there in Windows 10!

CAN ADOBE FINALLY FIX THIS DREADED ERROR 16 that has been plaguing users for over a ƃuᴉʞɔnɟ decade?

We users are paying for your living, so FINALLY fix that broken software NOW!

Add me to the list.  Windows 7, SP1, OS 64 bit, Dell Inspiron i5

Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI three times, last time as fresh download, still get same message.

I just tried to follow the directions in the link provided above, I have no PCD folder, only SLStore.  Got through all steps more or less but the very last Child Objects thing and it would not allow it.

Acrobat (the program discussed in this forum) will edit a PDF file... not a video

You need to find a forum for the Adobe video editing program you use, which is MOST LIKELY Premiere Elements or Premiere Pro

Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
