Can you go to Properties > Fonts and tell us what it says about the typefaces being used? You might need to scroll down to see them all.
Quite often the issue is either the fonts were not embedded and are not installed on the computer or that the fonts are Type1 from 1984.

Hi There,
Yes, it is a type 1 font. What should I do?
Kind regards,

I had an inkling that the issue was deprecated Type 1 fonts from 1984. I wish I had a good answer. I just ran into this garbled text situation with a company I work for and asked them not to use Type1 fonts on their timesheets. I also sent them a link from Adobe Help. They did not stop.
One thing I discovered was that my newer Windows laptop had the garbled text, but my 2017 iMac was able to convert the timesheet to PDF without garbling the text.
I haven't cleaned up older fonts on my older Mac, but never installed Type 1 fonts on my newer PC.
Possibly someone else will have a better answer, but from my own experience, I saw two solutions:
I'll tag employee @S. S to see if he has other ideas.

Hello @S. S,
As many others we are also experiencing this issue with PDF's we sent out.
As I see from your messages the Adobe Team is aware of it and working on a fix.
When will this be publicized in the Known issues | Adobe Acrobat, Reader page as well, since this would be quite handy as a referral when communicating with our customers?
Thanks,
Patrick.

Hello @S. S we are waiting for the patch too. Please advise when this will be released. This is causing major detriment to our business, none of our customers can read invoices or order confirmations, none of our suppliers can read our orders.
When is the scheduled time for the patch release.
Thank you

@cj_3360 I completely understand the situation you are in. While I cannot commit to the exact date of the release, this should be done early next week.
@PatrickVC Valid Point. Let me take this up with our documentation team.
Thanks everyone for your kind understanding.
Best!

Hasn't worked for any of my clients. 24.003.20054 still displays the typical box font.

Hello Souvik,
On our testing machine update 2024.003.20054 effectively fixed the display of outline font documents that were unreadable in v24.002.21005.
Thx & Rgds,
Patrick.

Unfortunately, version 24.003.20054 has not fixed the issue for any of my clients. The same PDFs will open just fine with any other PDF viewer.

My office is experiencing the same problem even with the recent update. Little boxes instead of letters.

The link you sent me is for Acrobat DC and my subscription is for acrobat Pro.

@ANDRIE5E0F Your subscription is for the app Acrobat Pro DC, where DC stands for Document Cloud.
You can download the installer from there and run it on your computer.
Once installed, it should automatically capture your credentials and log you into the application.
In case the app does not, you need to log in using the same Email address and password you are signed in now, and your subscription should be working as usual.
