Hi all,

I am having exactly the same kind of issue with several PDF files generated a while ago. No problem to open the files from browsers or even from Acrobat Reader. Only with Acrobat Pro.

I tried the link provided above to upgrade to the latest version, but I remain with version 2024.002.21005... The update through Creative Cloud does not help since it tells me there is no update available.

Thanks for your support on this.

@Will_74BSOD Please try this link: 24.003.20054 Optional update, Aug 26, 2024 (Windows Only) — Acrobat-Acrobat Reader Release Notes (adobe.com)

Let me know if this version fixes your issue.

Thanks,

Souvik

I tried the link you sent and ownloaded it and installed it. I am still encountering the same issue of the garbled text.

Could you please search further into this issue?

@ANDRIE5E0F,

Would you mind sending me a sample file and a screenshot of the error for further investigation?

The files can be sent via private message.

The link you sent me is for Acrobat DC  and my subscription is for acrobat Pro.

@ANDRIE5E0F Your subscription is for the app Acrobat Pro DC, where DC stands for Document Cloud.

You can download the installer from there and run it on your computer.

Once installed, it should automatically capture your credentials and log you into the application.

In case the app does not, you need to log in using the same Email address and password you are signed in now, and your subscription should be working as usual.

@ANDRIE5E0F

Can you go to Properties > Fonts and tell us what it says about the typefaces being used? You might need to scroll down to see them all.

Quite often the issue is either the fonts were not embedded and are not installed on the computer or that the fonts are Type1 from 1984.

Hi There,

Yes, it is a type 1 font. What should I do?

Kind regards,

Hi All,

We have released a new update (2024.003.20054). Please update the application and let us know if the issue is fixed.

-Souvik

Unfortunately, version 24.003.20054 has not fixed the issue for any of my clients. The same PDFs will open just fine with any other PDF viewer.
