the document I want downloads and then triggers a very updated version of Adobe Acrobat, trying to also push subscribing. When I click on create a PDF Adobe just gives more options and goes to free trial. I  called support for the site which is a HOSPITAL portal and was told this is how the location I go to set up their portal to function. I just want a copy of my own medical information. It used to work before.  This is rather hard to believe. It doesns't make sends.

When I click right on the document, nothing comes up that says "save as" which usually is the case.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

you should be able to download a pdf. how to do that may require a right click or something else.

If you open the file in Acrobat it means it's already saved on your computer. Click the button at the top-left corner, select Properties and look under the Description tab for Location. You can even click the path next to it and it will open the folder and highlight the file for you.

thank you! but i had to go into downloads to find it. i didn't see anything you described. years ago i had to change my settings in chrome to download documents to  the browser bc acrobat wasn't opening them. the only reason this opened and downloaded with acrobat is bc the portal has it set up this way. i don't go through this with any other documents ever that people send to me.  But i just looked into my programs and there is now Adobe Acrobat there with the date of 5/16/24. So how did that get installed? (not that i mind)  and what setting do i change in chrome if i want to use Acrobat to "always download". Chrome has changed a lot in the menu recently and it's different than what i'm used to. i'm totally puzzled.
