Hi @g_1977,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

We are already aware of the issue, but this is something Microsoft has to fix.

Acrobat only calls for the application APIs to launch, however, support for the Old and New UI for Outlook is something Microsoft has to share. Since there is no ETA for the fix from their side, we can do very little on this.

That being said, I will update the thread as and when I hear back from the team on any updates.

More info around this available here: https://adobe.ly/4jfGNWU.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Regards,
Souvik.

Hi @Alison34036969cu0e

Hope you are doing well.

Would you mind sharing the steps you are doing to attach PDF to email? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20380 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

The problem seems to be that Acrobat is using outlook.exe rather than the default email app. It should be a simple change for them to make.

Has this issue been resolved or answered yet? I am using Acrobat Pro 2024.002.20687 64 bit.

I select the share option and attach to an email where it offers me the options of Microsoft Outlook (the old version) or Webmail

Hi there

Hope you are doing well.

Please go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Email Account > Under, send file by email settings, Uncheck 'Always send file as a link' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Also, as you have the latest version of the application, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Why not just admit that Adobe reader currently doesn't work with New Outlook?

I am having a similar issue, one of my customers uses this feature and it was working until they switch their company to New Outlook, now when they click the email icon in Acrobat it generates a new email windows but the Icon that shows up on the taskbar shows that it is using the old Outlook.exe and not the olk.exe for New Outlook. I have tried both the Default Mail and Webmail options but both have the same result, once the senders email has been typed out and the email sent the email just disappears, it does not get delivered, it isn't in sent mail folder or drafts or the trash. Once you change back to Old Outlook all the sent emails that didn't send from Acrobat all get sent at once. My customer want for the feature to work correctly using New Outlook as they have paid to integrate new apps the require New Outlook and are not fully compatible with the Old Outlook so they cannot change back at this point but they want the functionality they are used to using to work again. I have tried checking and unchecking the options listed in the send files by email setting and it has not fixed the issue.

I am having a very similar problem, when I try to send an email through Adobe's PDF reader it opens an Outlook.exe of Outlook classic and the email just disappears, even though it is directly linked to an active Outlook email account. If I open Outlook classic directly from Windows Start and click 'switch to new Outlook' all the attempted emails send at once. I have tried it with so many versions of add-in selected/deselected, unchecking 'send file as link' etc. Seems like a bug in the Adobe software. Super frustrating as I am trying to help an elderly man who cannot easily use the computer and this broken feature is causing him a lot of grief.

Hi! I am having the same problem. When I try to send the pdf directly through Adobe Acrobat Reader, it opens the Old Outlook, instead of the New Outlook. Anyone knows how to solve the problem?

I have the New Outlook configured as the default app to open the mail.

Here is a picture. Outlook New is set to default email application for all file types in Windows, I click next here and it opens an email form in the old outlook, there is no option to change the application Adobe is calling default..

I'm still having the same problem, it is incredible that Adobe didn't added yet the possibility to send attachments using the New Outlook!
