Adobe Acrobat pro "continuous release", Windows 11.
I'm seeking guidance on how to configure Acrobat Preflight for a specific task. I want to convert a PDF document so that its cover pages remain in color while the interior pages are converted to black and white. Could someone please walk me through the steps to achieve this using Acrobat Preflight? I'm particularly interested in understanding how to set up the preflight profiles or checks to differentiate between cover pages and interior pages and apply the color conversion accordingly.
Result: I want print booklet printing with my office printer. As every office printer, booklet printing is most easy. My rinter also bend it and add staples. Problem is, colour printing is expensive. And I need only cute cover, interior is ok b&W. So, force brutally cover colour interior bw.
* Printer type: Xerox Workcentre 7845
* Is it possible make Preflight-profile? Cover with colour. Interior b&W.
* Bonus: Can I make even any jinx "use other paper tray"? As you know, this type office printer contain many paper tray. So. I can put High-quality paper to Tray 1. And normal paper Tray2. If Preflight-profile contain any "Cover page = colour + high gloss paper" "interior page = blacknwhite + normal paper", printer regognize this and pick up papers just this way.
BUT. Most important is "how I can force document cover colour, interior bw".

Second possible is use colour changing, "Change colours". But Change colours is not best tool for this. Reason: You must select colour profile. And there is no any black'n white profile. Is it "fogra..."? Any RGB? Japan color, US color, Gamut?

With what you have there is probably one way to do this. Print your black and white pages seperatly and then fold and staple yourself with the cover you printed in color.
The better way to do this is to use the PitStop acrobat plugin. Quite used to make a good plugin called Quite a box of tricks and it was the easiest but they have discontinued this. Acrobat's color conversion, IMO, doesn't work as you would expect and only applies profiles.

This first option I used many years. I printed coloured cover papers. Then bw-inside-pages. Staple it manually and bend. It was so big work, I promise meself "never again".
In my opinion this is important: If Xerox workcentre found colours from page, it is colour page. So, if I select in printer settings "colour printing", it really works. Printer colour print calculator not calculate blacknwhite pages.
BUT: This work ONLY is page is really without colours. During pdf create it is impossible make this type setting. Only postprocess. In my opinion this is only Preflight OR Change Colour. But problem is, Preflight need about two year experience before this is possible. Change Colour is maybe much more easier, but, problem is, this need BlackNwhite profile- and it is not available.
Please notify: Adobe Acrobat Pro contain much tools. But this type process is too professional for normal user... this is reason why I ask this here.

Problem PARTIALLY solved.
1. Printer (Workcente) regognize colour mode of the page. So, if page is colour, it make colour print. If blacknwhite, it make bw-print.
2. Adobe Acrobat Pro: Tools and replace colours-tool. It found from same as Preflight. "Print Production, Convert colour".
3. Using this tool, select any blacknwhite-profile. "Conversion profile". I test and eg. Gray Gamma is real bw-profile.
4. Select page area: All pages you want BW. It can be individual page, or page area.
Now print document. Remember: DO NOT USE "Print As Image". SImply change your printer to colour mode.
Tested. Booklet is 60 page. Cover and back is colour. Inner pages bw. Printer colour print quantity grow only one. So this way work.
BUT PARTIALLY. Now I want solve end part: "How to change paper type per page." Eg. "High gloss page 1 and 60, Normal Paper all other". If this is possible in Adobe Acrobat Pro, I can print cover from other tray. Is this possible? Select paper type per page?
