I am making an fillable PDF for a friend, she does not like the blue box that shows when everyone opens the document. Is there a way to not have a color. I can see where I can change the color in preferences for my computer, but not for everyone that will receive the document. Thank you,

Unfortunately, this setting is not per-document but for the entire application.
It's possible to embed a script in the file that will disable it, but then it will affect all others too, so it's not the best idea...

The friend must also change the settings in the preferences.

12-12-2021 ADOBE Reps. keep tellin me the same answer,
BUT, The issue with removing the 'blue' color/highlight was available until ADOBE came up with New Versions AND statred Charging ($$) monthly/yearly INSTEAD of selling customers a full license........see attached......
AND, although I have a full licence to Adobe Pro XI, I cannot find my registration in ADOBE.,com Account [ I have screenshot showing registration] to download & install on a new laptop that I just bought.....

The difference is that now Acrobat's UI is customizable and it's up to you to install this tool in the Quick Toolbar.

Otherwise you can find it in the Prepare Form tools pane:
