Missing Preferences Option: General - Open documents as new tabs in the same window

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard DC - Version 2015.007.20033 (Continuous)

I know there is a feature under Edit > Preferences > General called "Open documents as new tabs in the same window," however, I am missing this option.

Is this no longer available? Is there an update I require to get this option? I used to have this option on Acrobat on my previous PC. When I received my PC refresh recently, I have found the option is no longer available. This could be an "older" option and may no longer be available but I want to confirm. I find this option to be very helpful and efficient for what I use Acrobat for. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I also do not have this option, too. I am running Adobe Acrobat Pro 2022.003.20310 on a mac with a creative cloud subscription. My Acrobat is defaulting to tabs and I do NOT want tabs.

As BerndAlheit said you have got the older version of Acrobat and this option was introduced later. There has been a bunch of updates introduced later to the version you have.
