Problems with the new M1 chip and Creative Cloud

With the brand new iMac 24 "and M1 chip, the problem arises that the iMac / Finder hangs up when opening and editing Acrobat and other programs from the Creative Cloud via a local NAS. This wasn't the case with all previous iMacs with the same configuration. I never had a problem like this, does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described iMac / Finder hangs up when opening and editing Acrobat.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe AcrobatDC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, please try with a different PDF file and see if the issue is file specific  or not.

You may try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described in the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.

Also please try the steps shared on the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html

Additional Information: Adobe is actively working to build apps that run natively on Apple computers using the Apple silicon M1 chip. Many of our existing apps can run on M1 devices using Apple's Rosetta 2 technology.

For more information on this please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/apple-silicon-m1-chip.html

Hope this will help

Hi Amal

Thanks for replying. These are the specifics from Acrobat: Architecture: x86_64, Build: 21.5.20058.441104, AGM: 4.30.107, CoolType: 5.14.5, JP2K: 1.2.3.48698 all running on macOS Big Sur 11.5.2. Also, we are using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop etc. all updatet to the latest versions.

Would seems to minimize frozen screens is running InDesign etc. as "intel version".

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing the information. Please try the troubleshooting steps shared above and see if that works for you.

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there.
