Unable to copy (and paste) special characters (Swedish for example)

Unable to copy (and paste) special characters (Swedish for example) after update to 21.11.20039.0

 

Any ideas? Thanks 🙂

 

Copy from Adobe Acrobat doc (.pdf) and paste to any other program. Special characters are displayed as empty when pasted.

Language in Adobe set to same as computer (swedish) but also changed to Swedish manually. Stays the same. This occurs after update to 

21.11.20039.0

The new version 22.1.20085 is now available for Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC.

Please update the application from the help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once and see if that helps.

Same problem here. We had this problem earlier last year. Was in June when I remeber correctly. 

They fixed it back then with a patch. 

 

Too bad the same error pops up again. 

 

I use this feature multiple times a day. (copy past with special characters). 

Really time consuming to type everything by hand.

Hi,

Can you include a screenshot showing the File>Properties>Font panel.

It is possible that the pdf is using a font that you do not have on your system, or a different version of the font.

That's could be why the text pasted does not have special characters handled properly.

 

  • For example, if you paste your text in MS Word, the characters do not appear
  • Select the text, including the 'blanks' of missing characters (Select All Ctrl+A to make sure)
  • Change the font, selecting that you know has the special characters
  • If you see the characters appearing then, you know it is a font issue as explained above, if not, report it to acrobat.uservoice.com
  • keep us posted on your progress

My file uses Open Sans (embedded) and the bold variant. 

But copy paste to any file and changing font doesn't let the character appear. 

 

Back in june it was fixed with that patch. Now after last update the same "bug" is back again.

Please try using “Copy with formatting” instead of “Copy” from the right click menu on text selection.

I dont have that option.

for reference. 

 

It is exactly that issue. 

Had it back then. And now again. 

 

See screenshot of what my right click options are. 

It is in dutch but as you can see no "copy without formatting"

 

Also: opening the pdf in chrome or safari has no problems. I can copy paste from these documents perfectly then.
