Unable to open a PDF document previously accessed

Hello, I have been trying to open a PDF that I have accessed recently and whenever I try a pop up message reads "There was an error opening this document. Access denied." I went to preferences and unchecked "Enable Protected Mode at Startup" then selected "yes" but nothing has changed.

I had the same issue, it was due to the file name length (too long), reduced the name down and file opened without issue.

Is this document on a network drive? Try copying the PDF to your C drive and see if it opens from there.

Could you right click on the document and try opening it with "Chrome" and see if it opens with that?

Hmm.. Right click on the document, go to Properties>Security and give all users full permissions by clicking the edit button. Then try.

You said you were able to access this file earlier. I wonder what changed between then and now.

All users have access to the file so that's not it either. I'm really not sure, been trying to figure it out for 3 days now.

Does this issue occur with your account only or with other users as well?

Is the operating system in your computer different from what the other users have?

Is this happening ina MS Windows 10 environment or macOS?

Okay, I believe you are using Adobe Reader to open the document.

Please go to Edit> Preferences> Security( Enhanced) and uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode at Startup"

Then also uncheck the "Enable Enchanced Secutity" checkbox and then try.
