With the latest update, the visible scroll bars have disappeared. If you try to scroll with your mouse they will show but only momentarily. The developers intentionally removed the visible scrolls. It is NOT a setting. I don't know why. My team uses these scrolls (clicking in the scroll area) every day in how we check documents so right now Adobe is useless in that regard.
Adobe - Please have your developers re-enable the visible scrolls. This is super inconvenience for creative teams who use this feature all day.

Hi All
The issue has been addressed with the new version of Acrobat (23.08.20555) and now we have a preference to enable the scroll bar in Mac.
Please find details for the fix here:- https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/scroll-framework-upgrade-macos.html

Im having the same problem, as soon as I zoom into a page to read it I cant control scolling down to the rest of the page to read it. Im incredulous as to way software engineers/designers feel that hiding scrollbars is going to save us space or be a more efficient way of working – they've actually added an extra step now because you have to "move" your window for it to appear. I hate these arrogant attempts to try and change the way we work by removing things and forcing us to deal with it. This surely (hopefully) has to be a glitch.

While this explains that you guys decided arbitrarily that people don't need reliable scrolling access in Acrobat, it does provide solutions for someone working on a tablet vs a mouse. Does me being on a tablet mean I never get access to horizonal scrolling?
PLEASE bring the fixed scroll bars back. This should be a setting you can turn on and off, NOT something you guys decide we don't need.

Hi Amal,
Thanks fo responding so quickly. Unfortunately that wasn't helpful (ie it still didnt work). I dont know why/what/how youve done it but: a. if I want to use the scroll bar I have to "jiggle" the window to wake it up b. when it appears its so light you can just see it (see snapshots) but as soon as you go to select it, it disappears. Its like trying to catch a fish with a piece of string – sometimes you get it sometimes you dont. It doesn't seem like its a feature. I spent a minute just trying to scroll my page down 2 inches.
I'm on iMac 2019, OS 13.5.2 (22G91)all my software etc, inc. Acrobat (not reader) is up to date. It's driving me freakin' crazy how cumbersome this has become. I agree with Ashley323 it shoud be an option. Not all of us users have to worry about limited screen space, but a lot of us do have to worry about deadlines. And if you 're going to say to me that IF I want to use a scroll bar that I now need to hold down the sift button, you guys have added an extra step to the process. I hope that makes sense.

Amal, do you have an estimate of when this issue will be fixed? I'm trying to determine whether I need to lease or purchase a PC (I'm on a Mac) so that I can use a version of Acrobat that still has the permanent scroll bars. I'd rather not spend the money.

Amal, please has your engineers step up on this! It is very irritating when you spend so much time on pdfs and can't see or use the scroll bar! We pay a lot each year to have a license to use your product and this should be an easy fix that will satisfy a lot of users who are very frustrated. Please give an estimate of time--I can't believe this couldn't be fixed quickly and an update pushed out. Thank you.

Any idea when this will be fixed? Why have you implemented an "update" which has clearly made teh system worse for users?

Dear Amal,
It is now December 11 and as far as I can tell the scroll bars STILL have not been restored. Please stop sending this repetitive message because it is clear that Adobe has no intention to bring them back. Just be honest!

I'm echnoing what other users are saying--getting rid of the visible scroll bar was an awful decision. I often work on book-length PDFs of 300 or more pages, and I need to be able to move around in them any way I want to. "Go to page" doesn't work because I simply can't memorize what's on 400 pages of a book I haven't fully read. Keyword searches don't work (try to guess how many times "economy" appears in a book about the economy...). Grabbing the scroll tab icon while it appears for a brief second and then keeping my thumb on the laptop trackpad the whole time I'm in the PDF, just so I can slide that icon around, is ridiculous. The tiny bit of space that's gained by eliminating the scroll bar doesn't matter if Acrobat is now unusable. If you can't restore the scroll bar, I'll need to find a competitor product that lets me do what I need to. Disappointed in you, Adobe!

Hi Amal,
It's over a year later and the scroll bars are still not fixed. It's ridiculous that we are paying a monthly fee for "upgrades" that make the product almost unusable. When will this be fixed and why isn't it a priority?
Thanks,
Laura

You must revert to the Classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-in...
Consider the "new Acroba"t as a beta version, many features are missing or half-implemented.

Thank you for the update. I have Acrobat version 2023.008.20470 and under my app list it doesn't indicate that there's an upgrade. All my other apps are marked with "upgrade available". Also when I checked the preferences it doesn't include the "Always show scroll bars" as a check-off option. Is the new version not yet available? Please advise.

Hi there
We are sorry to hear that.
You may download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html and see if that works.

Amal, this patch did not work. My scroll bars still appear for a very, very short moment then they disappear. The only way to bring them up again for a very very short moment is to do a screen resize or some other movement. Why can't you just BRING BACK THE SCROLL BARS?? Ya know, the permanent, always showing scroll bars just like the ones on every window, on every computer, in every app that is out there. Hey look -> a scroll bar for this message!!!

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, the issue persists. Even with the "always show scrollbars" option enabled, the scrollbars only appear momentarily before disappearing again. Please ensure that users have the ability to keep scrollbars visible at all times, rather than having them briefly appear and then vanish.
