My PDFs have this grid on and I have no idea why it started, but I would like to turn it off.

Hi Suzan

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

Also, make sure you have the recent version 22.1.20085 installed for Acrobat. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

Also, try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

This is completely wrong. There is no such option as "Rulers & Grids" under the Show/Hide menu.  I have "Navigation Panes," "Page Controls," "Menu Bar, " and "Button Labels." That is it.  Yes, I have the latest version. Try again. This is maddening. Why is this annoying grid the default?

This is a community forum with people trying to help each other. Kindness goes a long way.

I accidentally turned this grid feature on and the instructions provided are correct, allowing me to quickly resolve this. Here's a screenshot for you @defaultxljcuxbrfoyl Maybe this will help you sort it out.

Does anyone know what shortcut turns them on? I had entered what I thought was CTRL + Z when they turned on, but I wasn't able to duplicate it. Thank you!

Adobe appears to have changed the menu/Views on the update.  I can now find the gridlines in the menu but I love shortcuts and the Ctrl + U works great for me.  Thank you.

Do these recommendations work for just Adobe Reader? When I go to View-->Show/Hide-->Rules & Grids, I only see one choice, that is "Line Weights". I have checked and unchecked this but it has no effect on the cross-hatching or grid that appears in every PDF that I open. Thanks.
