I keep seeing a "Welcome to Acrobat DC Start Tour" popup every time I launch Acrobat. I've clicked through the entire tour several times to no avail. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat but it still shows up. How can I disable this?

Hi Amal and everyone,
I have been having this same issue with a clients Windows 11 laptop with the tour popping up on every instance of Acrobat being launched after the clients account automatically signs into Acrobat.
For those having this issue on an Apple device, I am sorry but I do not have a solution for you.
If you are looking for a possible solution to this problem and you are using Windows, I hope this helps some of you out and if this is not the solution for your instance of this problem, I am sorry and I hope you do find a resolution to this issue soon.
My solution for my client was that previously for troubleshooting reasons, their Acrobat had been placed into compatibility mode and this seems to have then caused the tour to forget that it had been closed or clicked through in the previous session.
If this is the cause of your issue with the Acrobat tour, then if you go to the Acrobat shortcut and right-click it, click "Properties", then click on the "Compatibility" tab, you will then want to untick the box where it says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then click "Apply" and "OK" at the bottom of the Properties window.
If this tick box was not ticked for you, then your Acrobat has not been running in compatibility mode and this is not the cause of your Acrobat tour issue and I am sorry.
If this was the case for you and the tick box was ticked in compatiblity and this has fixed your issue, I am glad to help and I only hope that everyone else will be able to find a solution as well and if this was the fix for you and you see anyone else out there with the same issue and this might help them, let them know about this fix and brighten their day.
Thanks everyone
Kind Regards,
Tom

Every time I uncheck that setting, click OK, then restart Acrobat, the setting automatically gets checked again.

Hi there
We are sorry to hear that. Is it a personal machine or work/company machine? Please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
If its a work computer, please get in touch with the IT at your end and see if that helps.

Creating a new admin user seems to have worked but I would like it to behave as it should under my original account. How can I do that?

I have the same problem since a remote Adobe session on my computer. I tried Amal's original solution to uncheck the message but that did not work. I d not understand the next message to create a new user profile, plus I'm not on a MAC. What do I do? It's a constant annoyance. Thanks.

Please try to create a new test user profile as described here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-... and see if that works.

This is ridiculous, why create another user? I have a profile now for many years. I also have this problem and I suggest Adobe do something about it.

To disable the "Welcome to Acrobat DC Start Tour" popup, go to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "General." Under "Basic Tools," uncheck "Show me the start screen when I open Acrobat." Click "OK." This should prevent the popup from appearing every time you launch Acrobat. Learn more

There is no such option, the available option is:
> preferences > General > Under messages from Adobe, Uncheck 'Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat'
There is no "Show me the start screen when I open Acrobat."
And that option I've mentioned, also mentioned by others above, does not stay "unticked" once you exit Adobe and re-open the application. It reverts back to being ticked again. Telling us to talk to IT department doesn't work, because we've been told that this is Adobe issue, not an IT issue.
Is Adobe actually going to fix this?

Hi there
Please update the application to the latest version 23.08.2042X from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once.
In the earlier release, users found it difficult to locate the option to bypass the Acrobat onboarding tour, as it required selecting Skip tour from the Options menu in the tour dialog box. The latest release has made this process more user-friendly. There are prominent Not now and Finish buttons directly in the dialog box, allowing you to easily end the onboarding tour whenever you choose.
For more information, please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new.html

Amal,
I have tried this without success. This popup is very annoying and I'm just not sure why Adobe won't allow it to be disabled.

Hi there
The preferences here allow IT to disable and lock such features. Use bToggleFTE to disable the Help > Welcome menu item which invokes the Welcome tour and page as shown in the screenshot below:
For detailed information, please check the help page https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Macintosh/FeatureLockDown.html#HomeScreen... and select 'Home screens and startup' in the preference setup.
Let us know if you experience any trouble and need more help.

Thank you for your help on this but I don't have an IT person or department and I don't know how to access this. I am also now trying to disable the Accessibilty screen that pops up all the time.

Hi there,
Please try the steps below for feature lockdown:
1. Search for Registry Editor in search box of Windows OS and open it
2. Go to SOFTWARE>WOW6432Node>Policies>Adobe Acrobat>DC>FeatureLockDown
3. Right Click on the right hand side > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
4. Right Click on the newly created folder "New Value #1" > Modify > and set 'Value data' to 1 > Click OK

Thank you for the prompt response; however, this did not resolve the issue.
The Welcome to Acrobat Pro” screen still shows up every time I open Acrobat as does the “Need Signatures” box and the “Accessibility Setup Assistant.”
It is very annoying especially when I am not an IT person 😊

Hi there
We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists, Would you mind collecting the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html , Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Hope you are doing well.
Please confirm if you are still experiencing the same issue with the latest version 24.02.20759 of Adobe Acrobat, Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also, if ts a 64 bit Win machine please follow this registry path "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\AdobeAcrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown" and see if that works.
