Zoom percentage tool not showing in top task bar when 'open documents in new windows' is enabled

The Zoom In (+) and Zoom Out (-) buttons, and the zoom percentage text box disappeared from my toolbar, and I can't get them back. These controls are only accessible through the menus or the undocked floating panel. Re-docking the panel doesn't bring these controls with it. Right-click "Show Select & Zoom Tools" doesn't even list them.

It appears that this issue only occurs when Adobe Reader is set to 'open new documents in new windows'. The drop down % bar only shows in the toolbar when 'open new documents in a tab' is enabled.
I very much prefer to have new documents opening in separate windows, but I also want the drop down % icon to show in that mode. The same tools should be present in both views. Availability of tools or where they can be pinned should not depend on a setting for opening new documents. It does not make sense.

Adobe won't let me report this issue, perhaps because I have a free version.

Is there any way to tackle this? Is there anyone from Adobe reading along and who is willing to solve this issue?

I never had this problem with older versions, so I think it's a glitch that needs to be patched.

I use Mac OS Ventura, and Adobe Acrobat Reader version 2023.001.20177

I am experiencing the same issue, but I have the full paid version. As soon as I switched from tab view to separate windows, the issue began. Did you ever find a solution? Thank you.

Thanks for your quick reply.

The files mentioned in the link you provided were not present on my laptop. I have tried various search options.
The only Adobe related file that showed up was called com.adobe.reader.DC.WebResource.plist, which I haven't touched.

I have added two screen shots. My version is in Dutch, but the icons and locations of the commands are the same as in the English version, so I hope that is enough to clarify the issue.

I have put a red box to highlight the zoom percentage tool, which is showing the menu when in 'tabs' mode. In this mode, it's also showing in the task bar as you can see.
The zoom percentage tool is missing in the menu when in the 'open in separate windows' mode, and also not showing in the task bar.

To be certain, I have restarted my laptop in between screen shots to make sure that restarting Adobe Reader would be successful.
