I am getting "a font package is required" message. I need to know how to suppress this message so that I never see it again. I neither need nor want to install any fonts - the file I am viewing is a document that was scanned by another person into a PDF file and uploaded to our internal website, and I can see it just fine if I hit "Cancel".

You get rid of the message by installing the font pack. This seems to be something that some scanner software does, there might even be a fix for it.

Is there a way to ignore missing fonts so that the message doesn't pop up?

No. The message is in the general case important, perhaps critical. Your scanning software is doing something very odd, in that it is using Chinese/Japanese/Korean fonts that you can't see.

That is so stupid. I don't want to install anything as I can see all the documents just fine. Why there is no ignore option?

As I explained. Nobody was expecting any PDFs made by software this stupid. Did you look for an update to your scanning software?

Or, what's the big deal with doing what the message says?

The big deal is I know I don't need those fonts, so I want to permanently suppress the message until the time I decide that I do need them. Epson is another problem altogether, had to deal with them before. Will make sure OCR is disabled on all scanners by default as we rarely need it. The new detail we found is that when the problematic file is viewed inside IE, we get the error message. When the file is saved to a computer and viewed using Adobe Acrobat 11, there is no error.
