I saw in FAQ's that Reader does not save the temporary files if you close Reader without "saving" or the program "crashes". I find it hard to believe that such a basic function was missed by the creators.
My question is whether anyone knows if "Reader Pro" has this same deficiency? I don't want to buy this and then find out it has the exact same issue.

There is no reader pro. There is only Acrobat Reder and Acrobat Standard and Pro.
Neither does recover graciously from a crash as of my information. The only Adobe Program I know, that recovers really well from a crash is Indesign. Never lost any single character I changed. Other programs do at most autosaves in certain intervals. Acrobat does none.

Sorry. I meant Acrobat Pro DC.

My answer is still valid, as it addresses Acrobat DC Standard and Pro. It is even true for any version of Acrobat I‘ve worked with since Acrobat 3 or 4. I even can‘t remember the initial version number.
