Is there no longer a free version of acrobat reader? All I want to do is edit a PDF. Do I have to pay a monthly subscription fee?

Of course there is a free Reader downloads https://get.adobe.com/reader

Which is, of course to READ a PDF, not edit

To edit (other than filling in boxes in a PDF that is already created) you must pay

Thank you for the quick response. I guess I should have phrased the question differently. In order to do any kind of editing do I have to pay a monthly subscription of $14.99 US?

Thanks

Bill

Yes, or go to Amazon to see if they still sell the version with a one time payment

Let's just go over something. Nothing has been taken away, as your question seems to suggest.

1. Acrobat Reader is still free.

2. Acrobat Reader still can't edit and never could.

3. Acrobat (paid version) has very limited editing, and must be purchased or subscribed; subscription is a new option.

Sometimes people are convinced editing has been removed from Reader. What usually happened is that they have been running Acrobat (paid version) for years without realising they have hundreds of dollars worth of software. How can this happen? Well, it could be a computer from work, or the software might have come bundled with a scanner.
