Every time I add a text comment or text box, the added comment just disappears from the PDF as soon I click enter. The comment remains in the sidebar, but it does not show up on the PDF itself. I've tried deleting the application and re-downloading.

Sorry for the delay in response.
Could you please try updating Acrobat/Reader to the latest patch and check if that resolves the issue- launch the applicationo > click Help > select Check for updates. You may also download updates manually using this link: Adobe software and product updates
Reboot the machine and check.
Also, try adding comments on another pdf file and check if this behavior continues.

Could you please confirm the application and the operating system installed on the computer? To check the application: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Have you tried adding text comments to another pdf file to check if it's not a file specific issue? If issue persists with all the pdf files, uninstall Acrobat/Reader using cleaner which you can download from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs , reboot the machine, install Acrobat DC from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html , Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution , reboot the machine and try again.

Was this disappearing comments issue fixed? I'm having the same problem and can't figure out what to do to make the comments appear on the document. Here are a couple of pictures to show the issue I am currently unable to fix....HELP??!?!?!
