Adobe Acrobat DC giving error saying file cannot be opened, file damaged

Hello,

I have a filled-in dynamic pdf that is saved to my hard drive. It was initially saved with information several months ago. I was able to open and edit the form 7 days ago. Today, I tried to open the same form and it gave me an error that said "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

It happens in both Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Why would this happen all of a sudden? It doesn't happen for files of other dynamic pdf forms.

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro

Thanks

@AkanchhaS

I did this on Mar 10, but have not heard back. Still cannot open many pdfs, with either the error "Insufficient data for an image", or "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

Got any updates for me?

Close Background Processes and Give Adobe a Fresh Start.

- which of the 98 background Windows processes should I close?

Run Adobe Acrobat as an Administrator.

- Doesn't help.
Run Adobe Acrobat in Compatibility Mode.

- Doesn't help.
Disable Protected Mode.

- Doesn't help.
Repair and Update Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

- For the 11th time?
Reinstall the Software.

- See above.

All of this was tried before (except background processes), but to no avail.

I sent in logs, hoping there might be something there to decipher the issue.

Hi @Lorne29097031fy3m

We apologize for the delay in the follow-up response.

This issue should have been addressed with the latest patch released for the Acrobat continuous versions.

Acrobat and Reader official update 23.001.20093 is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. You may manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates>reboot Acrobat.

More information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

If it still doesn't work, then please collect the logs running the latest version using the same method.

Please collect the Adobe CC logs https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html  share them by uploading them to cloud storage (any)
