Hi
When I'am using adobe acrobat reader, and opening pdf-documents from my computer, it doesn't show my recent open files:
Can you please help me - do I need some settings I don't know about. The only place I can find something about the opening window, is under settings:
Hi Daniels,
Could you please try opening this link in a web browser and see if recent files are visible: https://cloud.acrobat.com/recent
Also, check if documents in recently used list is not set to 0 under Edit > Preferences > Documents > Open settings.
Keep us posted with the results.

Hi Shivam
I check the 'Open settings' and the recently used are set to 100.
When I used the link, I could se my recently used files - but they were all from my Document Cloud. I don't have all my pdf-files in the Cloud - some of them are local on my machine, and I can't see them in the list.

You must have a different version of Acrobat DC to me.
I am using MacOS Sonoma.
I do not have a Preferences option under the Edit menu.
There is a Preferences link under File. However, it does not have an "Edit" section / pane.

It's in the Documents section at the top

Thanks. I found it with your help but it was already set to 100.
I reset to 0, quit; restarted and reset to 100, quit and restarted.
Last "recent" document showing is from 12 February - needless to say I have opened at least several other pdfs every day since 12 February but none are showing.

I should also add that, when I save a PDF, the dialog does not display the most recent folders I have saved a pdf into but folders from some time back - not sure when.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why this problem only happens with files I have in iCloud. I can see in the recent documents anything I opened that was local (i.e. desktop or documents etc) but not something that was in my iCloud even though it's really local like dropbox would be holding a local copy.
Thanks

You won't have the same problem with Adobe cloud. This trick is as old as Microsoft.

Hi!
Yes I also have the same issue - it's strange. My other adobe apps remembers, but my acrobat doesn't? I have checked all settings and seem to be correct.
When I click the web link as suggested above - my files do not show either.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Did anyone find the solution to this as local files will no longer show in the recent lists in Adobe Acrobat since approx the start of April? Like other users this is just for local files.

Is there an update to this topic, it's really hampering my usage of the product.

I'm following this topic—adding my voice here. I now have this issue with both local and Cloud files. I've even un-/reinstalled the app (after trying the reset Preferences tip without seeing a change). I'm looking forward to a fix; this is hampering my workflow.

Same issue. It will not show recent files nor will is reopen files from last session even though I've followed all the instructions and checked the right boxes. I am going to stop using this product soon because it's very frustrating to have to start over and I've spent way too much time trying to fix it.

Sorry to say this, but I'm glad I'm not alone. How in the world would you even offer this feature without it (really...EVER) working? I get shown files from MONTHS ago. So I have to keep the app open so I can access the files I've worked on recently. And if it crashes, then I have to REMEMBER what I had open. This is so...90s.

Same here....all of a sudden, I am having the issue of recent files not showing up in Acrobat Pro. Very annoying. Most of my files are accessed from Dropbox. I hope we have a solution soon...

Got the same issue here – another example of breaking stuff that didn't need fixing.

Not sure how this thread can be marked as Solved when users are obviously still having issues – seems that Adobe Mods aren't keeping an eye on the ball.

UPDATE – SOLVED!
Removed Acrobat v23, downloaded and installed Acrobat Pro 2020 from the downloads page.
I now have recent files back!

I am also having the same issue. My recent file all of a sudden disapeared and in addition, Acrobat doesn't re-open the files that were open when it was shutdown. I cannot possibly remember all the files I had open everytime I restart Acrobat!
