I'm here for some reason after I officially downloaded Adobe Reader from their website https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/readerdc_uk_xa_cra_install.exe
Then I scanned it on virustotal, it looks good. https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/b7f5c6175581005a54f651c8c10f08f6f87754b67097f10305bbddb9878dd340/r...
But after I saw in the Relations Tab, how surprised I turned out that the file I downloaded contained a lot of viruses but the virus was not detected. Is this my fault, my computer, my system, or what?
The relations are:
I use Windows 10 64 bit which is always updated, and the antivirus is always updated.
If anyone understands this problem please let me know.
Hello Ubaygatesjr,
We're sorry for the trouble you had with the download of Adobe Reader, however, the URL you shared above to download Adobe Reader is a third party website URL and it's not the official download link to download Adobe Reader.
Please scan your computer for any probable virus infection using a good Anti-Virus and remove the download .exe file which you have downloaded from the above URL.
The official website to download Adobe Reader is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Hello Ubaygatesjr,

The official website to download Adobe Reader is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions and for Enterprise user it is Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
It's is recommended to download all the Adobe Products from its official website www.adobe.com.
Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Seemingly official URL => https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/readerdc_uk_xa_cra_install.exe.
I wonder why such website could use adobe's official domain name <Adobe.com>.
Hope someone from Adobe can clarify this issue. Thanks.

I didn't download from there. In fact I'm just following up on the question posted by UbayGatesJr, who downloaded the infected installer back in 2018. An Adobe personnel responded that the infected installer was hosted at a third party site instead of Adobe server. That is what my question is about.

https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/readerdc_uk_xa_cra_install.exe
What this does:
admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/ was created to make the viewer believe they were accessing a legitimate adobe page.
Where the viewer is taken:
readerdc_uk_xa_cra_install.exe
Since all the link is underlined by the browser,
https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/readerdc_uk_xa_cra_install.exe
no one suspects anything is wrong becauese the underline in the link is covered by the complete underline added by the software.
The viewer is taken to a site that looks like adobe page and downloads useable software that conatins malware, ransomeware, etc. code.
Since the real money today is knowledge of your serach habits, clicked links etc., you are helping them buy a new expensive sports car or trip to a hig roller's casino every few days.

Thank you for sharing your diagnosis, but I can't entirely agree with it. We can't be sure what was happening 2 years ago, but the link is not split as you describe, and the site belongs to Adobe. Today the download is digitally signed by Adobe.
