Adobe Reader DC upgrade

Hi Adobe,
Adobe Reader Dc(20.006.20042) upgrade is failing on around 600 machines, all these machines has higher version of Adobe Acrobat DC(20.009.20074), error is 1328- Patch cannot be applied has higher functionality version already present. It is not feasible to repair 600 machines, So could you please assist us.

Hi, The error in the log is-

MSI (s) (C0:68) [00:26:11:032]: Product: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC MUI -- Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\PTE7C5.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch.

These kind of errors hard to investigate. They ususally a result of corrupted install, reinstall, update, etc..

Sometimes system reboot resolves the issue. One other option: download and run AcroSize.exe tool from this link -

Please check for valid Adobe digital signature before running the tool.

Select "Start Reader report" button. In the left column find "PatchCache folder" item that has a folder path. If you see it, try to rename this folder and install patch again.
