Hello,

Looking for soluion on the following error with Adobe Reader. Error states:

"There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (1014:1014)"

I found some possible resolutions but looking to see if there are any concrete resolution/fix for the known error. So the only know fix is to Uninstall/Re-Install.

Thank you,

John Vang

Hi John

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the error 1014:1014

Would you mind sharing the workflow/steps you are doing that leads you to this error message? What is the version of the OS and the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you are using ? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20091 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to download the PDF to your computer locally and then try to open the PDF and check if that helps.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hello Amal,

Works flows used is between 2 applications; one being Adobe and other is an document indexing or filing tool. We have the indexing tool open, and simply click and drag the PDF document was want to file aware into a "virtual drop box" within the indexing tool. Sometimes it works somtimes it doesnt usally prompting that error code.

Opening the PDF on it own does not have issues, only when using it with that Indexing tool. We are on version 21.007.20091. OS is Windows server 2016 Standard.

thanks,

John V.

Hi John

We are sorry to keep you waiting. As described, opening the PDF on it own does not have issues, only when using it with that Indexing tool.

As you are using the Third party application and experiencing the issue , it seems to be some issue with the third party application. There isn't much that we can do. Please try to get in touch with the document indesxing /filing tool support team and see if that works.

Regards

Amal
