I have Windows 10 and when I use Google Chrome to open a PDF file from a web site, Adobe Reader DC opens and I get an error message that states: " There was an error opening the document . The file is already open or in use by another application " and I know the file is not open.
I have Adobe Reader 2021.001.20145 version.
I have a second PC with the same versions of Windows, Chrome, and Adobe Reader and it opens the PDF at the bottom of the Chrome window and when I click on it, it open just fine.
How do I make my first PC work the same?

Hi DRobert
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, you are unable to open the PDF from web site using Chrome browser and getting the error " There was an error opening the document . The file is already open or in use by another application "
Web browsers use their own PDF mechanism to render and display the PDF file and they are not Adobe dependant. Please try to reboot the computer once and download the PDF to your computer locally and then try to open it and check.
Also, please try to open the PDF in a different web browser and see if that works for you.
Regards
Amal
