Adobe Reader installation fails (MacOS 10.15.1)

I'm trying to install the latest release(s) of Adobe Reader DC (AcroRdrDC_1902120049_MUI.dmg as well as AcroRdrDCUpd1902120056_MUI.dmg) on my MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.15.1 (Catalina).

The installation fails at the Summary step with the message, "The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that's happening. As described above, you are getting the error The installation failed.

You may please refer to a similar discussion here (https://community.adobe.com/t5/get-started/mac-install-fail-the-installer-encountered-an-error-that-...) and see if that works.

That suggestion is for Creative Cloud, not Adobe Reader.
Also, I don't have any .pkg file -- just a .dmg file.

In the meantime, I rebooted my computer and retried it. It installed that
time. Go figure.

Hi,

I am encountering the same error but with Adobe Acrobat DC on Mac Monterey. I have tried rebooting and powering down my computer but I still get the same error message as seen above. Help would be greatly apperciated.
