I am having a problem where, even though I have selected the option to have Adober Reader open the PDF's from the last session, it is not reliably doing so. I'd say it does this less than 50% of the time.  I am running version 24.003.21112 (64 bit). The recent files are listed and I can click on them and reopen them, but it's a nuicance to have to do this. I exit the program by clicking on File, Exit Application. I couldn't find any recent posts like this in the Reader Community.

Hi there,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue.

I've tested the functionality on my end and it appears to be working as expected. However, I understand that you're experiencing inconsistent behavior, with the issue occurring 50% of the time.

To help resolve this, please try the following steps:

  1. Repair Installation (Windows Only):

    • Go to the Help menu in your Adobe application.
    • Select "Repair Installation."
    • Restart your computer after the repair is complete.
  2. Reset Acrobat Preferences:

    • You can reset your Acrobat preferences to default by following the steps outlined in this Adobe Community guide.

If the problem persists after performing these steps, please provide the following information for further investigation:

  • The version of your operating system.
  • A short video recording showing the steps you’re taking and the issue as it occurs.

This will help us better understand and diagnose the problem.

Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to your response.
