Adobe Reader

New Here ,
Nov 03, 2019 Nov 03, 2019

I had posted last year, trying to install Adobe Reader on my machine.  I continue to get an error 1722.

I cleaned all of the files using the cleaner program and went to a FTP site to get the file:

AcroRdrDC1900820071_en_US.exe

My flash does not update either and is in the same directory as Adobe.

I have windows 7 Professional.  I have adobe air, don't know what that is, also have zinio reader 4.  Could these programs be preventing me from installing Adobe Reader?

My chip is 64 bit not 32 bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Berri,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, you are getting the error 1722 while installing the application, correct?

The error is shown due to a missing update for Universal C Runtime in Windows. Please refer to the steps provided in the help article here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/error-1722--there-is-a-problem-with-this-windows-installer-pac...

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal

When I went to the site (microsoft) they said they did NOT have the files, gave me an error message NOT found.

I tried to fix my windows updater and it won't download any updates, so I am unable to get the update that you mentioned above.

I am at my wits end here.

Now I cannot install the program at all, it says that I have the program on my machine and I got rid of everything with the exception of Acrobat Air which I cannot get rid of.  I don't know if that has anything to do with my problem, so if you have alternative to this Situation, it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Berri, we are sorry to hear that the issue still persists, please try the steps below and see if that works

  • If you're on a 64-bit machine navigate to the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ else navigate to C:\Windows\System32, on a 32-bit machine.

Note: IfC:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder exists then you're on a 64-bit machine.

  • Search for the file msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll, and rename both the files.

Don't delete the files. If the Visual C++ redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) package fails to install, you can rename the files back.

  • Double click the downloaded Visual C++ redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) package to install it. After the installation completes, check that msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll files are installed back. Once confirmed, you can delete the files that you renamed in step 3.

Do not delete the latest installed msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll files.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal

Amal:

I did all of what you said above and it still gave me that error 1722 saying that I have adobe on my machine when

it is NOT there and I am unable to install the program still.

I went to that folder on my machine and it says that the files are there and I tried to install adobe from there and it wouldn't install.

How do I get the adobe reader off of my machine?  I used the cleaner and it didn't work.

Is it something in my registry?

I had someone helping me who is well versed in computers and he couldn't figure it out  either.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi there,

As we have tried all the troubleshooting steps and it still doesn't work.

Please create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the admin account and install all the mandatory and optional updates for windows, Reboot the machine and try installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC using the link (https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/) and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
