Adobe stuck at loading Font

Community Beginner ,
Apr 10, 2025 Apr 10, 2025

Hello, I have the problem that when I sign a file using Wacom and export it as a PDF, the text in the document is not visible. Only the signature is displayed.

According to my research, the issue lies with Adobe, as it seems unable to load the font. This error does not occur in Foxit, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.

Also have a post here, with some info

@magnificent_warrior8301 It appears Adobe Acrobat is failing to embed or recognize the font used in your document when you sign it with your Wacom tablet and export to PDF. A potential solution within Adobe Acrobat is to ensure that the font used in the original document is either a standard font that is widely available and embedded by default, or that the font is explicitly embedded within the PDF during the export process. Sorry for the late response.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I found the fix for the problem. It was related to the PDF printer of Wacom Sign Pro. The default setting was not to embed fonts, which seems to cause issues with Adobe. After changing the setting to always embed the font, it now works.

When you go to "File" > "Print" (even if you intend to save as PDF), look for an "Adobe PDF" printer option. In the print dialog box, click on "Properties" or "Advanced Settings." Within these settings, navigate to the "Fonts" tab and ensure that the option to "Embed all fonts" is checked. If the font is unusual or custom, you might need to ensure it's installed on the system where you are signing and exporting. Saving the PDF using these print settings with font embedding enabled might resolve the issue by ensuring the font information is included within the PDF file, making the text visible when reopened in Adobe Acrobat.

Another possible solution, would be is 'Save As PDF'. This could potentially resolve the issue of text disappearing after signing with a Wacom tablet and exporting. When you choose "File" > "Save As PDF" as the format, you are typically presented with a settings dialog box before the final save. Within these settings, you should look for options related to font embedding or PDF standards. Ensure that the settings are configured to embed all fonts used in the document. Sometimes, the default "Save" function might not force font embedding as rigorously as the "Save As PDF" process with specific settings. By explicitly choosing to "Save As PDF" and reviewing the associated settings for font inclusion, you can often create a PDF that correctly displays the text, as the font information becomes an integral part of the saved file, making it independent of the font availability on the viewing system.
