Advanced Search in Acrobat Reader DC Crashes application

New Here ,
Jan 10, 2017 Jan 10, 2017

I have a new installation of Acrobat Reader DC (2015.020.20042) on a Windows 7 32 bits PC. When I try to use Advance search it stops responding and after a while it crashes.

I tried the same installation on a 64 bit W7 pc and a 64 bit w8.1 PC where it does not crash.

What do I need to change in the settings to prevent the crashing?

I tried severan different pdf documents from different locations, with all the same result

Hi erikw28484051

Please try the following steps:

Open application and go to Edit menu > Preferences > Search and click on "Purge Cache Contents".

Also uncheck the box for "Enable fast find".

Then try to use Advance Search option and check if application still crashes.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Sorry did not work, what did work however is to uncheck Turn on Protected Mode at startup but this is not an option. Some of our core applications need this enabled. This means I cannot uncheck the Turn on Protected Mode At Startup box

We have released a new update for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC today.

Please update to the latest release by opening application and going to Help menu > check for updates.

Let us know if that works.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Also with the new release the problem stays.  However I found advanced search does not crash, it only takes some minutes before it starts. During the waiting you get the message: Acrobat Reader DC is not responding
