hi, we have the latest version of adone reader DC and Outlook 2016 on our desktops

Since upgrading to the latest update, the attach to email button asks to choose an outlook profile when clicked and doesn't work when one is chosen.

Ive found that previous versions of reader had this and it had been fixed

I tried the adobe reader registry which didn't work and tried repairing office 2016

thsnks for any advice

Hi danieldunn10,

I got the Outlook Standard version is 16.0.4498.1000 installed on my system, unfortunately I could not reproduce the issue.

Attach to email works fine whether I  install Microsoft update - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3141511/february-7-2017-update-for-outlook-2016-k b3141511  or not.

I request you to install all important Windows updates after installing the above KB.

Could you please check if you have installed all the critical Windows updates-

-Goto "Control Panel->System and Security->Windows Update" and check critical Windows updates if you have already installed all important Windows updates, its status should be "Green" and "Red" otherwise.

Kindly share your observations.

Regards,

Arvind

Hello,

We have the same issue

The problem is the Exchange cache mode. If this mode is disabled, the Acrobat Reader crashed when the Send E-mail button is pressed.

Our tech:

Outlook 2016, 16.0.4498.1000

Windows Server 2008R2, RDS, incl. Patches 04/2017

Acrobat Reader DC 17.009.20044.25828

Enabling the cache mode is not a solution for us. !!!RDS!!!

Regards,

Roman

Hi there,

I know, this is an old post; yet felt like sharing this.
It is not always that the Adobe is culprit for the broken PDFs. Most of the times, it is Outlook that fails to download the complete attachments. You can verify the same by putting your internet off and checking the email attachments. This applies to the attached images and other files as well. The ones with broken symbols are yet to be downloaded correctly.
Occurs primarily to the accounts when accessed through IMAP server.

Yeah Steve.

Thanks for that. I actually noticed the same for few of my attached images. They were broken when accessed without the internet. I was to blame the unopened PDFs for Adobe until I read your answer. Is there a way how I can download them completely? Or it says for ever? Do I need to work on any settings on my Outlook?

Can't really tell if that works for PDF, but for for the broken images as attachments, it did work.
I had taken help of Mail Backup X. This application isn't entirely free, but you may try the same for the first fifteen days without paying. It had resolved my broken images and actually made my offline Outlook mails more fulfilled and reliable. This application basically offers backup of mails. free trial limitation- not more than 10 mails can be exported from each mail folder.

As I said, it isn't always Adobe that is at fault. Sometimes, it could be the source.
