Hi,
I am currently trying to create a button link from one PDF document to another. I create this via "All Tools" then "Add rich media" or "Prepare a form" then click on "Button". In the action tab, "Open a file" is selected for "Select Action" and then I chose the PDF document I want to open up. After the button has been created, I test it by clicking on it but I recive the error in the screenshot below.
Is anyone able to suggest any ideas.
Thanks.

This is strange. Try using the "Go to a page view" command instead of "Open a file", though. When the floating window with the "Set Link" button appears, open the other PDF file, and then click that button.

Are you able to open the linked-to PDF file on its own?

Can you share the two files? Also, what's your exact version of Acrobat, and OS version?

The version of Acrobat is 23.008.20555 and the OS is Windows 10 22H2. The files that I have are two plain PDFs. One of them I have called "Home Page" and the other "Page 1". Nothing is in these docmuments. Just a button link from one document to the other.

Something to try: Go to the application's Preferences and make sure that everything under "Security (Enhanced)" is turned off.

I have unticked "Enabled Enhanced Security" and reassessed but no luck. I still get the same error message. Below is a screenshot of the setting on Security (Enhanced) on my PC.

There is something wrong in your application, then.
Try the following:
- Disable the new Acrobat UI via the Menu button in the top-left corner.
- Run a Repair Installation from the Help menu.

I have disabled the Acrobat UI and ran a repair on the installation. But the same thing is still happening.

Are you opening the files from your local computer, or a network drive?
