Can see files but cant read them?

Dear all,

I have  CD with a series of Adobe files. Each file is there with file sizes etc.. However, I simply can't access them. Can anyone help please? I just keep getting the message ' Cant read file from source'

Can you copy the files from the CD to the local disc?

I have tried that but although I can see the files and the associated file sizes, any time I click on each file, it just hangs and then gives the message ' cant read source file' I have also tried accessing files from a different machine and all to no avail?

Looks like a defect CD.
