Cannot install Acrobat Reader on Windows 10

Hello,
First I got a message 'a newer version is installed on your computer, installation failed'
So I search the community and use the Adobe remover, restart my computer and used the link provided in the same thread - the thread was from 2017.
When I reached the end of the installation, I got a message 'some components are missing, try again later'
I used to install Adobe Reader in 5 minutes on XP and 7, I've been spending 2 hours without any success despite the help provided by previous threads on the community.
Would someone be kind enough to help me?
Thanks a lot!

I also have Windows 10 in my laptop, I recently installed the security update that came from Windows. I had to uninstall the Adobe Acrobat as it was slowing my system and not working properly. Now when I'm trying to download the Adobe Reader an error message is coming 'Application Initialisation Error'. Please help me how I should install it now and what should I do.

Hi Nathalie_S,
Thanks for reaching out. AS described above, you are not able to installt the application and getting error ' a new version is already installed', correct?
Please use the steps provided in the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1722--there-is-a-problem-with-this-windows-installer-packa.... and see if that works.
Let us know how it goes
Regards
Amal
