Cannot install pdf reader after download

My computer is Window 8, I tried to download old version pdf reader but still cannot install.

Previously I can use pdf reader in Window 8, but after updated to upper version, it said there is one missing file in system, therefore I cannot use it.

But I found chrome can open pdf file, then I uninstall the reader. But now chrome cannot open some pdf file, so I would like to install reader.

Why settle for less if getting the latest & safest reader for free.

Get it from  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

- Thanks for the reply! I tried to install the latest version & version for Window 8, above box come out with a cross and not tick in above picture. And when I clicked the finish button, it said installation is not successful, pls see if you know the problem, thanks!

Looking at the screenshot, I believe the error message says "Newer version is already installed". If this is the case, then you may install the required Windows update, because the error is shown due to a missing update for Universal C Runtime in Windows.

You can install the update using one of the following ways given in the help article here: Error 1722 while installing/updating Acrobat DC/Acrobat Reader DC on Windows
