After having updated Acrobat Reader DC (v 20035), if I try to print a pdf document, I now get a message saying "The document could not be printed " and when I click OK I get a new message saying "There was an error in printing the document"....no other information is provided. All other programmes are printing normally. (Excel, Word etc)
I have Windows 7 OS and a FujiXerox CP115W and also an old Cannon MP250 printer on the system. Neither can print .pdf now.
I updated the driver software on the CP115 but it made no difference.
Any suggestions?
Hi Philj,
I apologize for the delay in response to your query.
I think you have attached the screenshot of the error but unfortunately its not visible at our end. You may see this for the correct steps of how to attach screenshot- https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot
We have a further patch released for Acrobat/Reader that should have fix for this problem. You may refer to the Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader and update it to the version DC Feb

Hi Philj,
Where exactly you have the document saved? If the file that you are trying to print is saved online, then you may save it locally first or download it and then try to print.
I assume, the problem might be with specific document? Or you are unable to print any file? Was it working fine before updating it to latest version?
Refer to the forum thread where similar issue has been addressed and resolved- The Document Could not be printed, There were no pages selected to print
Hope this helps.

Akanchha

I changed the security (enhanced) settings as advised but no luck. - same messages .....and on all .pdf documents old and new. Yes it was working fine until the update.
I wondered is it possible to install an earlier version - (> v20035?) or even v 20036 which I have in my office and works fine.

Would that be possible for you to share the problematic file with us? We would like to test the same at our end to see whether we are able to reproduce the same or not?
"You can share the file with us via email. And you can send it to the email that is shared via private message. Please do mention your forum thread in the subject"

Hi, philj95896112
I just fixed this issue on my computer and printer. I found this post: How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.
the only problem with it - is that it's not completely accurate for Windows 10 so I followed it until the "preference" part and used these folders instead and it worked
In Windows 10 there is no "Preference" folder - not even hidden. To follow these instructions you have to open the version folder
Then rename the JSCache folder and the Security folder
Open adobe and when you try to print it will create new folders.
I have no idea why or how they get corrupted but I'm guessing that's what happened AND this was how I fixed my issue
Which was: upon hitting print either nothing happened at all and nothing went to print queue -- hit print again and I got the 'document cannot be printed' message - click ok and I got 'there was an error in printing the document'
I hope this helps you too!!!
