Cannot save a form with signatures after 02-09-2021 Update (v2021.001.20135)

We use reader extended pdfs to fill out forms, save them, and then complete them at a later date. Once the form is complete it is signed and then a copy is saved. Prior to yesterdays update, this worked great. This morning we realized that as soon as we add a signature to the form and press "Save As" we get the following message:

"This document restricts some Adobe Acrobate features to allow for extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader. To create a copy of the document that is not restricted (and has no extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader), click Save a Copy."

The options presented are [Save a Copy] or [Cancel]. As soon as you hit [Save a Copy] the window dissappears and nothing happens.

I was able to roll back the update on one of our machines thanks to a recent system restore point, and the problem was not present. However, as soon as the device updated to the current version the issue came back.

I also am unable to install any prior versions becuase the only option listed under Windows 10 / English is the current version at: https://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

We rely heavly on this feature to do business. Please help!!

- Jeff

Hi Prashant,

The problem is happening across all of our PDF forms. In the example I have shared we are able to modify the check boxes, text, date field and save without any issue. It is when a signature is added using the Fill & Sign tool in Adobe Reader that we are unable to save the file.

Thank you,

 - Jeff

Would like to add my voice to this. Acrobat Reader DC (version 2021.001.20135), as well as the paid Acrobat Pro DC (version 2020.013.20074 according to the about button). I have tested this on multiple computers

Example PDF: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/8412...

(copy of file attached to this comment)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC
2. Press Fill & Sign

3. Add a signature using the "Sign" option

4. Press "Next".

5. It will prompt you to save the PDF. Press "Save" on the prompted.

6. An error message will appear saying, in full, "This document restricts some Adobe Acrobat features to allow for extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader. To create a copy of the document that is not restricted (and has no extended features in Adobe Acrobat Reader), clock Save a Copy."

Presing the "Save a Copy" button on the prompt closes the prompt, but does not save a copy. The only way to save the now filled form is to print to PDF, which is not useful if you then later need to further edit the form.

To be sure this wasn't an issue with existing PDFs, I tried a PDF form that previously worked from last year, and I had the same problem.

Same thing here.  June now and still having the issue.  Guess it is time to find another program to use beside Acrobat Pro DC.

I have this same problem trying to "Organize Pages".

Selecting single page PDF's to be organized into one document created unworkable problems. Text data from one page fills another page, editing page 2 edits the same text field on all other pages. Its a complete mess!!
