Create Adobe PDF and One Drive Issue

New Here ,
Apr 17, 2025 Apr 17, 2025

Within the last two weeks when I use the Create Adobe PDF function via File > Export in Word, instead of the file saving to my downloads (or where I specifically select) as I have done hundreds of times, the PDF is buried in the depths of my OneDrive if it can be located at all. Any ideas why or how to resolve? Also, the OneDrive cannot be disabled. Thank you.

@juniper_0000 This recent change in behavior when using Word's "Create Adobe PDF" function likely indicates a recent update or a change in the default save settings related to the Adobe Acrobat add-in or its interaction with OneDrive. @juniper_0000 This recent change in behavior when using Word's "Create Adobe PDF" function likely indicates a recent update or a change in the default save settings related to the Adobe Acrobat add-in or its interaction with OneDrive. Since you mentioned OneDrive cannot be disabled, a practical workaround is to adjust the save settings within the Adobe Acrobat Save As dialog each time you export. After selecting File > Export > Create Adobe PDF, pay close attention to the Save As dialog box that appears. Ensure that the "Save in" location is set to your desired folder (like Downloads or a specific folder on your local drive) before clicking "Save." While this isn't a permanent fix to change the default back, it will ensure your PDFs are saved in the correct location each time you create them, bypassing the unwanted OneDrive redirection.

Hello. I wanted to loop back to let you know that this was not a solution. I had already tried these steps but wanted to confirm the same, again. Even when I designate a specific folder, desktop or external hard drive, the newly created PDF gets buried in the OneDrive or more commonly completely disappears. If you have other suggestions, I'd be happy to explore them with our tech team. Thank you!
