Didier, thank you for your question. Error 1646 can occur when the computer does not meet the minimum system requirements to install the update. What version or build of Windows 7 Professional is installed on the computer?
Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html for information on the minimum system requirements to install Acrobat Reader.

Hi Jeff, thank you for your answer. It's a service pack 1 of Windows 7 Professionnal.
I see the version request for Adobe is Windows 10, 11, Server 2016 or 2019, all in 64 bits format.
But my problem is to cancel this error's windows, not to place a current version for Windows 7, not possible for the last version.
If you have a link where the Acrobat Reader XI 64 bits, it's realy genial. But that's the second step to have a full running PC.

Didier, thanks for your response. Windows 7 SP1 is listed as supported for 32- and 64-bit at https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html.
Windows 7 is a reasonably old operating system and basically unsupported. Are there any updates available for the computer, Didier? Can a modern version of Windows be installed and then the current release of Acrobat Reader?
Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/fix-install-download-reader.html for download links and other steps to resolve common download errors.

Hi Jeff. Thank you for the reference of the page with different version of A.R.
I read only one version for frenh users, I download it and receive the error 1646.
So, I try with the UK version, big installation .... and at the last step, I receive an error 1714 and the installation go down (uninstall).

Interesting, Didier, thank you. Four different solutions for Error 1714 can be found at https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1714-acrobat-reader.html.
Can you update this public discussion thread with more information on the type of computer and network Acrobat Reader is being installed on? Does an organization manage the network or computer? If so, do they subscribe to an Adobe product or service, or are you only using the free version of Adobe Reader?

Jeff, this PC is my private computer at home. Buit with an AMD A6-3670 APU with Radeon HD graphic, 8 GB of RAM. 2 screens used to display. Adobe Acrobat Reader French release 19.021.20061 installed the 21 december 2019. I don't know if other informations are needed 😉 I'm think it's a free version.

Ok, thanks, Didler; if you keep encountering problems, you may want to consider backing up any critical files and documents, formatting the computer, and installing a modern version of Windows. From the issues you have stated in this discussion, there appear to be multiple problems with the existing installation of Windows 7 SP1.
You are welcome to update this discussion if you encounter any new errors, Didier, but the time may be better spent on giving the computer a fresh operating system installation if you still encounter errors after implementing https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1714-acrobat-reader.html.

Hi Jeff. Thank you for your participation in this subject. In fact, I've a second PC running under Windows 11, but I've different old softwares well running under W7, under licences. My financial situation has changed and to switch fully in Windows 11, I must pay new licences for a lot of things not necessary. To my unit in Windows 7, Acrobat Reader is the main problem and I found more relax in W7 than W11. Very thanks for your help, really. Best regards 🙂
