THANK YOU! This is the correct answer ^ and should note that it's not the photoshop window or app that goes full screen (that's typically the esc key) it's the view mode going full screen. F as in wtF just happened after my cat walks across the keyboard on a deadline.

Note that this is not the correct answer for the original question, because this question is about Adobe Reader.

This article pops up when you try to search for the solution on Photoshop, so it confused me for a second when I discovered this is about Acrobat Reader...

F worked for me! It cycles through the different screen modes. I must have accidentally pressed it while going for V.

Hey guys, Something worked for me:

Go see the shortcut assigned to your Toggle Full Screen in

Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts then

write Toggle Full Screen in the search.

You will see the associated shortcut.

If there is none, create the one you want!

Cheers!

None of the suggestions mentioned in this post works for me. I'm afraid I'm forever stuck in full screen mode 🤪

Also none of the standard Mac OS ways to exit full screen is working. The app is absolutely deaf for any keyboard command and a sensible menu option is lacking. What are these Adobe guys doing ?? Ignoring any defaults ??

Does anybody have a suggestion to exit full screen mode in Creative Cloud ?

I had the same problem not being able to turn off full screen covering up the menu bar. I have two monitors, so I just switched the menu bar to the other monitor in displays and the full screen didn't come up so I could switch it off in the Playback Preferences. Whew! Definitely need a toggle switch for that one!

For Mac Users: If you are actively editing the PDF, the shortcuts don't work. ) :

After I hit "Close" in the upper right and closed active work on the document, the ESC shortcut worked.

Hope that's helpful to at least some Mac users.

What others said "f" works but on the Mac platform Adobe should be aware that this is non standard UI behavior and against Apple's UI guidelines for display. ESC should be able to exit from this but doesn't. Sometimes Adobe implements change for the sake of change - real bad process.
