Hi,
I experience recurring memory leaks with Reader 23.001.20143. I had computer reboot with no effect. This makes computer freeze and various other programs crash. Closing all Reader windows only partly solves the issue it seems. Killing Reader process from task manager solves the issue.
I usually works with tens of PDF open.
I'm running 64 bits Win10 up to date on i7-8550U CPU with 16GB RAM.
When other programs start to crash Reader is using over 6GB of the 16GB on the machine.
Now again while writing this ticket, I restarted Reader a couple hours ago and have only 2 pdf open (a few MB each) and Reader is using 1.5GB RAM... closing Reader RAM usage drops down to 1.2GB and it takes 20 seconds before all the accrobat.exe processes disappear.
The PC otherwise copes well with plenty of apps runing plenty of things in parallel and rebooting only every month.
Not sure I will be reachable to help solving the issue.
Cyril

I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader and the problem is still there.
From Resource Monitor Memory tab:
- Hard faults 0
- Commit 2.63GB
- Working Set 2.59GB
- Shareable 47MB
- Private 2.58GB
Second highest app is Chrome with 800MB+700MB, then Outlook with many mailboxes 500MB, other office apps with many files open are below

In the mean time, reverting to 11.0.08, it's a shame I can't find a way to revert to something not so old!

Note: it solved the memory leak issue it seems, 6 hours and 4 files open and "only" 370MB of RAM used

Seems OK so far, assume OK if I don't post by end of the month.

Hi Cyril5FC6,
Thank you for reaching out.
Try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document for the crash issue: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-crashes-on-windows-os.html.
Regarding memory consumption, this is required memory for the application mentioned in the system requirement. Refer to the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/system-requirements.html.
Let us know if the crash still happens.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,
My comptuer has 16GB RAM, so I do meet the requirements.
Regarding the crash help page:
- already tried or already as demanded : 1/2/3
- 5/ I don't have Distiller installed
I will try to reproduce on another user
I would have sent a crash report to Adobe if I did get the opportunity, and never disabled the crash report dialogue but I tried the cmd line to activate it nonetheless... let's see next time it crashes

Hi Cyril5FC6,
Sure! If the application crashes again, collect the crash logs using the steps suggested on the following page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html.
Share the log file by uploading it to Adobe Cloud or any other cloud storage. Then share the link to that file here.We will get the logs checked.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
