Acrobat Reader DC Version 2015.017.20053

I see that there are a few issues pertaining to fill and sign, but most indicate not being able to do so at all.
My issue is somewhat different in that I can go through the entire process of filling and signing the document, but when I try and Save or Save as, Acrobat Reader DC returns an error: "The operation failed because Adobe Acrobat DC encountered an unknown error"
If one opens the Fill and Sign option and tries to save without making any additions, amendments or signatures, it does not encounter the issue and will save the document quite happily. The moment one enters any text or a signature and attempts to save, it returns the above error.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program in its entirety (this includes removing and cleaning up the registry and folders prior to reinstalling). I attempted repairing the installation. All to no avail.
Edited to add: I have tested this version of Adobe Reader DC on a pre-Anniversary Update Version of Windows 10 Pro and on a Windows 7 Ultimate platform with exactly the same issues. It is clear that the problem is with the latest iteration of Adobe Reader DC and not with the platform that it is running on.

I'm having this problem too. Even with the print to pdf option it didn't work. An additional work around that works for me was to save the pdf explicitly to my local c: drive in documents. It seems the creator doesn't like saving to a drop box folder. I suspect that underneath the generic 'an unknown problem occurred' there's a couple of different issues.
The turn off enhanced protection didn't seem to make a difference for me.

ok everyone, when you open the file, click print and change printer to "save as PDF" or "Adobe PDF" as the case may be, this should fix it ![]()

Hi,
Can you guys please share the PDF with which you are experiencing the issue. Also can you check that whether you are able to edit the PDF using the Edit PDF application?

I am having the same problem.
Cannot save any file with a signature.
I think Adobe should post publicly, for everyone to see, how to fix this issue, instead of going about it in a case to case basis. It is obviously a very common problem.

How is this assumed answered? It's still a problem. I cannot save or print my form after filling and signing it. I lost a great deal of time because of this bug.

Same problem. Tried to update preference, update software version, restart... Nothing in this forum works. It is Jun 2020.
