Hiding the Tool Pane

New Here ,
Oct 02, 2018 Oct 02, 2018

Hiding the Tool Pane in the previous version was relatively easy.  Edit - Preferences - Remember current state of Tools Pane.  It does not work in the most recent update.  Not only does it not work, if I minimize the document and then pull it up again, the Tool Pane has shown back up.   I have to hit Ctrl H every time I pull up a PDF.  When will this be corrected?

Hi austinr84250201 ,

Thanks for Reaching out to us for your concerns.

Please follow the Steps mentioned here and see if this works for you : Permanently close the Tools pane in Acrobat Reader DC

We Tried this on the latest available Reader build and this seems to be working fine for us.

Can you please check and update if this solves your concerns ?

Hello Ayush - thanks for your reply. I had the same problem and selected "Remember current state of Tools Pane" as you suggested. It works insomuch as now it's "hidden" every time I open a new doc, except that it's not really hidden at all. It's like a big colorful circus of icons that totally distracts my eye when I'm trying to read the document (it doesn't help that I have ADD, which causes me to get distracted easily). Can you guys please make it so:

1) The Tools Pane can be completely hidden

2) The colorful icons are reverted back to a standard gray

Thank you!
