How do I get a downloaded PDF doc to automatically default to the "Actual Page Size"
in the View/Zoon when opening it?
Some PDF files are set up to deliberately ignore your settings. You canāt fix that.

Hello Boba,
By editing the "Preferences" in Reader, you can set the "Default View" to any of several options including a set zoom factor. This setting will be used when a PDF is opened and there has been no default setting established by the author or creator of the PDF.
You can navigate to Adobe Reader's Preferences Edit>Preferences(Windows)/Adobe Reader>Preferences(Mac)>>Page Display
You can also refer to Adobe article for detailed information Viewing PDFs and viewing preferences, Adobe Acrobat
Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

Thank you, but unfortunately this was not at all helpful - I followed the
suggested procedures and when opening a PDF document, the page view is
still very small, and every time I have to zoom the view just to be able to
view the document......

Hello Bob,
Is it specific to one PDF file or with all the PDF files? Is it possible to post a screenshot of the error/issue? To share the screenshot, refer to https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot
If it is specific to one PDF file, is it possible to share the PDF file with us? To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message
Thanks,
Anand Sri

Sorry Test Screen Name, the information you are providing is inaccurate. I know this because I will open the same PDF's open on two work computers at my college, running Adobe DC Pro and it's default view setting is "Single Page Continuous" and "100%" and they open NO PROBLEM, EVERY TIME on those computers to those settings. When working at home (unfortunately only having Reader DC), I will open the exact same document, with the exact same default settings of "Single Page Continuous" and "100%" but they will ONLY OPEN in "Single Page View". I can then go back to the college and open the same file again and the default works.
This IS an issue with Reader DC, and nothing to do with the files.

Do you use the accessibility settings in the preferences?

No, they are all unchecked as I don't find them helpful.

Does your college use this settings?

Not on the computers that I work on. I am not a huge fan of the accessibility features in Adobe so they are usually the first things I turn off after setting the default view.

I understand that, however, the section under accessibility titled "Override Page Display", both "Always use Page Layout Style" and "Always use Zoom Setting" are not checked, therefore, should documents not default to the "Single Page Continuous" and "100%" that is set in the "Default Layout and Zoom" in the "Page Display" preferences?

No, the page display settings will not override the settings in the PDF file.

As mentioned before, the PDF files in question do not have their own settings. If they did, then I would have issues with the computers at the college. This is obviously an Adobe Reader DC issue because the same documents open fine to the defaults when at work at the college, but not on my computer at home using DC reader with the same defaults. Therefore, IT IS NOT A SETTING IN THE PDF FILE!!!
Both Adobes (at work and at home) have a "Single Page Continuous" and "100%" that is set in the "Default Layout and Zoom" in the "Page Display" preferences, and both Adobes, under accessibility preferences section titled "Override Page Display", both "Always use Page Layout Style" and "Always use Zoom Setting" are not checked. Therefore, both Adobes should open the file to "Single Page Continuous" and "100%" should it not?
If not, then please explain why the Adobe Reader DC at home opens the files differently yet has the same settings?
"Single Page Continuous" and "100%" that is set in the "Default Layout and Zoom" in the "Page Display" preferences

One of the files I am having issues with is one that was downloaded from Canadian Tire. The URL is https://s22.q4cdn.com/405442328/files/doc_financials/en/2017/Annual_Disclosures/CTC_MDA_FS_17_Eng.pd...
As for some of my other documents, they are PDF textbooks that I can't really share due to copyright. I will try to find other documents this is happening with that aren't protected by copyright law.
