How can I display a scrollbar in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC? My version is 2019.021.20061. I need this to scrool through a document with many pages. There is an answer for Acrobat Reader 11 to set Touch Mode=Never, but that doesn't show the scrollbar in my version. Thanks.

It is available in Adobe Acrobat, not Acrobat Reader.

This worked for me...

Right click on the pdf document itself and a popup menu that looks like this will come up.

Click or select the "Document properties.." submenu and the Inital View is one of the tabs after selecting the Document Properties (as shown below).

Then uncheck or clear the Hide windows Controls.

Hey there @Chris2535001694h3 and others.  VERY UNINFORMATIVE INFORMATION posted throughout this discussion.

I had my READER open with four pdfs in it - only one had the scroll bar.
---- I got it to work for me, finally.

Under:   Edit / Preferences / Documents

  • then uncheck "Allow documents to hide....."
    • this worked for 'ME' in adobe READER....
  • THEN, close adobe and re-open.

The scroll came back, for me, for all the pdfs I was looking at in READER. As I 'try' to remember if I had modified other settings and returned them to previous state......

I believe that CLOSING adobe READER was the key to EVERYONE here making solution statements.
It seemed to appear that most folks were 'assuming' that everyone was closing adobe for the change to take effect.
And as several of ya have noted, adobe ACROBAT which I also have, it DOES have  initial view under file properties.

Rather SAD that adobe does NOT make this specific FAQ available (close & open) in its database - I searched their 'faqs' system and there was no mention of it anywhere (or rather, I could not locate it). Trust me, even though I've done countless software installs & set ups in my career... I also forgot to close the application...
