How to enable scroll bar?

Acrobat Reader 11 (XI) : No scroll bar on the right, and I cannot find the option in "preferences" to enable it. Annoying to have to "grab and pull up" all the time. How do I enable it?

Thanks.

It might be "Touch Mode".

1.  Go to Edit>Preferences>General>Basic Tools section.

2.  Select Never in the Touch Mode pop-up menu

3.  Click OK in the Preferences window.

See if that makes a difference

Hi All

The issue has been addressed with the new version of Acrobat (23.08.20555) and now we have a preference to enable the scroll bar in Mac.
Please find details for the fix here:- https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/scroll-framework-upgrade-macos.html

Yes, it works, but make sure that you disable Acrobat Reader in the Login Items (Settings / General / Login Items). Otherwise, after one or two days the scroll bar will be gone again.

Yep, it works. I've just Time Machined back to Feb this year and restored Acrobat. Both scrolls are back.

Adobe... you should be ashamed.

Do you mean you restored your entire Mac using whatever version of Time Machine? If yes, this isn't what I meant. If you have an older copy of your Acrobat backed up with Time Machine, you can go to Spotlight, type Acrobat, launch the app from your Time Machine, and make it a default pdf reader. You don't need to restore the entire Mac to that older version, but you obviously need to have Time Machine connected to your Mac.

Yes, sorry, I meant I went into Browse Time Machine Backups and selected the old version of Acrobat and recovered that and not the whole OS.

I have uninstalled the current version of Acrobat and closed down Creative Cloud.

There are a number of alternatives to. Acrobat Reader, and many of them are free. I am going to use them going forward. For a company such as Adobe to break the OS-defined rules of the UI is unacceptable in my opinion.

We aren't talking about Reader but rather Pro. If Reader's functionality is all you need, then I surely agree with that on other alternatives.

No, no, it's the same problem with Reader as well! And the solution of using a saved or backed up older version of the application works here also. That's what's I've been doing (via SuperDuper).

Adobe don't care.

They have flagged this problem as solved.

They are happy ripping us off with a ridiculous subscription fee for the 80% software bloatware that we don't want/use/need and the broken 'Beta' versions of the pro software we've been using for 20 years.

Dear Adobe, what is the ETA for fixing the missing scroll bars in Acrobat on the Mac? I am searching for an alternative to your product. Scrolling with the touch pad does not work as well as the scroll bar. on the sides This is a bug and needs addressed. Inkscape as a PDF editor is installed and being tested currently, it has scrollbars!
