How to get rid of blank comment column at right of document

I converted a Word document to a .pdf, and in the .pdf, the text is all squeezed to the left, with a blank white column down the right side of each page.  I am not able to get rid of this.  Funny thing is that other .pdf documents which I have on my computer do not have this problem.  Help!! How do I get rid of this column?

How did you convert the file, exactly? Reader is not capable of creating or editing PDF files on its own, so if you only have that application then the issue is with the software used to create the file.
